Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to hire the formulator?

There are currently 3 methods we can use to engage the services of our formulator;

  1. A flat fee can be negotiated to acquire exclusivity in your specific market for original formulations created by a formulator for a predetermined amount of time.

  2. Hire a formulator at an hourly rate of $150 per hour, with a minimum of 10 hours per week. HBC does not retain any royalty payments from the sales of these products.

  3. Hire a formulator at an Hourly rate of $75 per hour, with a minimum of 10 hours per week. A royalty rate based on 5% of GROSS SALES is retained by HBC to be paid on a negotiated schedule.

How long does it take to create a product?

The timeline for product creation varies. The formulator speaks with the client and determines how they want the product to work, then preliminary structural design is created. As long as the supplies needed for that particular creation are available, an initial prototype can be completed within 4-6 hours. The formulator will then produce 1-3 variations to choose from and samples will be supplied to client within 3-5 business days. In extreme circumstances, 1-3 variations of the prototype can be created in 24-36 hours, but there is an additional cost for “last minute” requests.

Can you help me sell my cannabis or hemp products on Amazon and/or Shopify?

Amazon and Shopify both have specific policies in place that govern how they handle the cannabis and hemp industry. We have navigated those waters with multiple SKUs and products. We can help you determine if your products qualify for sale on Amazon or Shopify. If they do qualify, then yes, we can help you get through the initial regulatory and legality phase, and then guide you into sales growth and expansion.

How do I get banking services?

There are Banks and Credit Unions that have accepted the cannabis and hemp industries for years. This is a small group, so finding and knowing them is key. Holly Bell is a retired banker with over 30 years of experience and connections. This gives the HBC team access to that group, and the ability to bypass the normal red tape.
